Narrow footpath down the Western flank, towards the arrozal, through a jungle of heath, medronhero, brambles and second growth eucalyptus, it's strips of bark flying about like lianes. The path is a good deal steeper than it appears in this picture, and can be quite a challenge, especially coming back up. The average rate of ascent must be closer to 40% than to 30%. In winter it is a rushing brook.
