Lane up the Eastern barranco, here seen in early spring. The 150 m (165 yds) track is jeepable in the dry season, but remains muddy fairly long, due to the source at the top of the barranco, which lets a constant trickle flow down the hill. Once this source has been turned into a proper well, a poço, and the runoff channelled towards the gulley, the path should provide good access in all but the rainiest months. The clay soil is very fertile, witness the great variety of small shrubs and herbs growing waist high (in another month) on either side.
